Brackenhurst Veterinary Hospital was built in 1978 by Dr Azzie Senior, and is one of the longest standing veterinary clinics in the area. Interestingly, Brackenhurst and sections of Brackendowns are part of what was once a large pig farm. And the hospital bears fond memories of past employees like the late Alphios Ngubeni, who spoke fondly about how the now busy Hennie Alberts Street had evolved from a dirt road.The hospital was first bought by Dr Ted Jacobs in 1992, whose commitment to high standards of veterinary care, and hard work grew it from a one-man practice to a thriving four-man animal hospital. Multiple renovations, as well as costly medical equipment bear testimony to Dr Jacobs
