On call service
On 22 Sept 2024 we were faced with gastric torsion in our basset. The vet on call said we have to go to a 24hr vet and was not willing to help us. We had to drive an hour to Vetscape to put our old man to sleep. Previously, on 23 July 2022, we had a 2 day old puppy screaming in pain that we wanted to PTS. Vet on call was Helderberg Animal Hospital, and they refused to help us, even after we agreed to a ridiculous surcharge. And on 5 June 2022 we had a dog fitting and the on call vet from this practice decided she had rabies, even after I showed her her vaccinations were up to date, she didn’t want to touch her, I ended up injecting her valium, no temperature was taken and we lost her to bacterial meningitis! What a pity that you have to go through this in your time of desperate need because call is shared in the Helderberg area?
